this almost seems like it was taken from the onion but it isn’t.  we especially find interest in the part where the author talks about ‘taboo’.  what do you think?

According to the Washington Post, the CIA planned to flood Iraq with a fake video of former leader Saddam Hussein having sex with a teenage boy.

The newspaper quotes a former American intelligence officials as saying: “It would look like it was taken by a hidden camera. Very grainy, like it’s a secret videotaping of a sex session. The idea was to then flood Iraq with the videos.”

However, the plan ground to a halt because there was no full support for the idea. One former spy added: “[These ideas] came from people whose careers were spent in Latin America or East Asia and didn’t understand the cultural nuances of the region. Saddam playing with boys would have no resonance in the Middle East – nobody cares. Trying to mount such a campaign would show a total misunderstanding of the target. We always mistake our own taboos as universal when, in fact, they are just our taboos.”
