this is yet another reason to be completely envious of australians!   they give birth to people like kylie minogue, hugh jackman, olivia newton-john, cate blanchett to name a few plus they have the kangaroo, the great barrier reef and the uluru!   (just learned about that one actually)  plus they get robosaurus!  big shout out to my buddies jay lynch and dj who live in australia,  the sweetest australian in the universe…shannon nolan and fellow madonna maniac ‘cubb’ from madonna nation.

my big question is how would sarah palin explain this super fantastic thing below to her ‘fans’?

Robosaurus returns for the Easter show

SYDNEY – A giant fire-breathing robotic dinosaur that eats cars has returned to Australia for this year’s Royal Easter Show.

The Robosaurus, which stands four stories high, has steel jaws and a fire breathing nose, hasn’t been down under for 10 years.

Robosaurus is twice as high and three times as heavy as its prehistoric counterpart, the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The daughter of the $2 million monster’s US creator, Serina Hays, said cars just “lay down and offer themselves up” when Robosaurus approaches.

The only sign that the 22-year-old machine, which took more than 30 companies two years to make, is ageing its increasing appetite, Ms Hays joked.

“Sometimes he eats Japanese cars and is still a little hungry after,” she told reporters in Sydney on Tuesday.

Robosaurus, which will feature in the main arena twice a day throughout the two-week Easter show, will be joined by $7 million worth of new rides, including a looping rollercoaster.

The rollercoaster is the only one of its kind in the southern hemisphere, carnival manager Shane McGrath said, it has a 27 metre tower which sends the rollercoaster down a vertical slope before it speeds through a loop.

“The scariest bit is climbing up the tower, then you go down pretty quick,” Mr McGrath said.

He went on to explain that riders will experience a g-force of four as they loop the loop.

Over 14,000 animals will also take part in the show, including hundreds of goats, alpacas and pigs.

The show’s general manager, Michael Collins, said the event would have every thing from cattle to carnivals.

“Where else can you see racing and diving pigs, meet Noddy, the world’s tallest horse, and learn how to wash a chook all in one day?” he asked.

Mr Collins said many city dwellers were far removed from the agricultural world.

“It’s a great educational opportunity for kids to learn where their food comes from,” he said.

This year’s show, starting on April 1, will feature an excellence in agriculture day where city families will be partnered with country exhibitors so they can learn about life on the land.
