Who is Jordan Eagles?
Jordan Eagles : Works in Blood, Acrylic, Resin, Copper
@ Krause Gallery
149 Orchard St (between Rivington/Stanton)
Exhibition is on view Thursday, March 3rd through Sunday, May 1st, 2011.
You are cordially invited to the reception on Thursday, March 17th, 6-9:30pm
Through a self-invented process, Jordan Eagles suspends, encases, and permanently preserves animal blood, salvaged from slaughterhouses, in plexiglass and UV resin. This technique is designed to retain the blood’s natural colors and textures and to expose its finite details. When lit, the works become more translucent, cast shadows, and project a glow onto the wall behind them. This effect reveals multiple layers of organic material floating in clear resin and makes the works appear as if they are illuminated from the inside. This video provides a short view inside the artist’s studio.
This looks interesting no?
